Our Curriculum

Memoria Press | Classical Christian Curriculum

Why did we choose Memoria Press?

In our pursuit to find a curriculum, we were able to minimize our options by searching for curriculums that meet the requirements of both a classical and Christian model. We also wanted to ensure our books and textbooks would be in a traditional paper/pencil format. As a school, we want our curriculum to maintain a Christian worldview across all subject areas. We value high academic standards and want to provide our students with an environment that promotes a well-trained mind.

House of Laurels aligns with the mission of Memoria Press and we cannot wait for our students and families to learn more!

According to their website: “Memoria Press exists to promote and impart the classical heritage of the Christian West. In order to achieve this goal, we have produced a comprehensive and accessible classical Christian curriculum that encourages the development of wisdom and virtue through a pursuit of the Good, the True, and the Beautiful.”

"As a mother of four, I have witnessed the importance of critical thinking and discernment at an early age. House of Laurels will focus on encouraging virtuous and moral character over meeting worldly goals. Providing opportunities for critical thinking, while cultivating the heart, prepares children with space to grow and learn throughout life.

An article I read sums it up perfectly, stating: “Rather than starting with standardized benchmarks or marketable skills, classical education begins with the human person. It asks, first, what kind of soul must a child possess to live in liberty and serve the common good? And then, what kind of mind is needed to discern truth from error or mere opinion? And what kind of heart must be cultivated to desire what is noble, even when it is difficult?” This is what we want for the students at House of Laurels!"
